Is the weather in London likely to scupper Londons bid for the Olympic Games?
Martin, UK I think our weather is an advantage for athletes, and London is one of the best European cities to live in. Compared to other cities it has so much to offer. Setting aside the weather we have relatively low crime, high employment, good healthcare, a high proportion of green spaces and we’re rich in culture. I’ve lived and trained in London during the summer months, it was my base for a good chunk of my international career and it is a pretty good city as an Olympic athlete, and was a pretty good place for me to train Currently in London we have woefully inadequate facilities for most sports, the result of this is that important and influential Olympic sports such as athletics and swimming do not come to London to host their high-profile international events. Should London not build the facilities first, prove that it can host world class competition and then bid for the Olympics? Otherwise what possible hope do we have against a city like Paris that has recently hosted the F
