Is the way an SIR/SIA works essentially a way to force a handset to establish a WAP session without subscriber intervention?
A session will only be established if the user has enabled this in the browser; for example in the Siemens S45 this parameter is called “autosia” in the browser and even then only if the handset configuration also allows it. The gateway can be disabled from letting the “Service Load” content type through and application developers would never be able to send an “SIA”.
