IS THE WAIT FOR A CHILD SHORTER FOR AN AFRICAN AMERICAN OR BIRACIAL CHILD?
In our experience, most birthparents select a family who reflects the race of their child. Generally, there are fewer African American and biracial couples applying to adopt. For this reason, we are actively recruiting adoptive parents with diverse backgrounds to honor the requests of all birthparents we serve and to meet the diverse needs of the children we place. Other applicants will be considered, but the wait is likely to be much longer. If you are interested, please call our office to arrange a meeting to learn more.
