Is the VW TDI Jetta a reliable vehicle?
I’m looking into buying a new VolksWagon TDI Jetta and I am wondering what others know about it. Thanks A: Ok ignore the two dumb answers above me, just completely stupid uneducated answers. ANYONE that is buying a diesel has 2 things in mind torque and economy. In the january 2006 issue of Diesel Power they got a jetta and had 47 mpg with it. Power was very great according them and they got at least 5 mpg better than they are rated by the epa, and it isnt even broken in yet. My step mom has a 2005 tdi bug and gets 52 mpg and it has the six speed auto. That thing runs very well, very quick car, quiet and powerful. The vw diesels are very sophisticated refined engines that have come quite a long way. There is an aftermarket for them too, to increase power and mileage. Just remember horsepower is a figured off of torque figures. Go out and drive one, you wont be disappointed espicially being able to go 500 miles on just 10 gallons.
