Is the Volkswagen GTI a good vehicle?
I have a 2003 VW GTI VR6 that I purchased new and have NEVER had a problem with it, with the exception of regular maintenance, which has never been that expensive, and replacing a couple of headlamps. With responsible ownership, it’s a GREAT value. Good gas mileage, is fast and a blast to drive! The other great thing about the GTI, is that you can fit an amazing amount of stuff in your car with the hatchback and fold down back seats. Also easy to get in the back seat since the front seats not only lean forward, but also lift. I do have a complaint, however. The cup holders suck! They are not made to hold larger containers, and they are located right in front of the vents, so if you are drinking a cold drink and you have the heater on, it warms up your soda to a toasty room temp. Also tends to block your radio. Maybe they’ve fixed this in the newer models?
