Yes. The product contains a shield plate over the UV lamps to prevent exposure to UV light during use. Of course, there are special precautions you need to take when changing the UV lamps. For instance, you should always unplug the unit before removing the shield plate, so you do not look directly at the UV lamps when they are lit.
