Is the upgrading or replacement of an existing E911 & EMS telecommunications system an eligible project?
Yes. If multiple, independent communications systems are going to be consolidated into a single system operated by a single municipality. For example, a county may apply for a communications system upgrade that will result in consolidation of separate town emergency communication systems. If an existing facility were to expand to include additional municipalities or if the project were to become a County operated/maintained county-wide system, where towns are currently maintaining separate facilities, then it would possible be an intermunicipal project.
