Is the upgrade to Opera 5 free?
If you have purchased Opera directly from Opera Software, or through one of it’s authorised resellers such as Braindock or Go32 then you are entitled to a free upgrade to Opera 5. By verifying that you’re a registered owner of version 3.62 (usually by submitting your registration code upon request), Opera will provide you with a new serial for Opera 5. You are not be entitled to a free copy of Opera 5 for Symbian OS if you’re a registered Windows user, however a license for a second platform is available at a much reduced rate. Owners of devices that were supplied with a copy of Opera 3.62, such as the Psion Series 7, Revo+ or Diamond Mako, are not automatically entitled to a free upgrade to Opera 5. These copies are distributed by the device manufacturer under special licence and as such are not subject to the policies of Opera Software AS. Any decision to offer upgrades is down to the manufacturer, who should also be the recipient of any enquiry or comment on the subject.
