Is the unnatural pollen of genetically modified crops causing the bees to die?

I’m no fan of Monsanto and am very uneasy about GMC’s but I think it is highly unlikely that pollen from such crops would harm bees. Genetic modifications have been occurring naturally for millions of years and the bees have continued to go about their work. The question should be: are bees dying in greater numbers over recent years than has previously been the case? I know of no hard evidence that this is the case. Bee keepers accept that colonies die out from a number of causes such as varroa infestations, American Foul Brood, harsh weather and so on. Has their been an acceleration in the number of bee colonies dying out? We need to monitor the situation carefully and not jump to conclusions.
