Is the unleaded gasoline more dangerous for man than the leaded gasoline?
The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) from USA has now as main purpose five toxic polluting substances of air, among which the benzene and the 1,3-butadiene are in the first two position in top. There is a suspicion that in the case of using unleaded gasoline on classical vehicle, without catalyser, this vehicle exhausts a very toxic smoke containing benzene. It is also supposed, that the unleaded gasoline contains some undesirable evaporation which doesn’t exist in ethylate gasoline. The researcher Peter Heindl from the Institute of Geopathology in South Africa warns that a content of 1% benzene (as much as it is admitted in USA or in UE for unleaded gasoline) is already too much, as long as this is very toxic. The benzene, he said, it is absorbed by the human body, either by evaporation inhaling or by skin, being then localized in the fat tissue, backbone and central nervous system. Heindl also warn that the benzene can reach the blood where it will be transformed in phenol (hydrox
