Is the UNH-IOL a Broadband Forum ITL?
No. The UNH-IOL is not an officially recognized Broadband Forum Independent Test Lab (ITL). We chose not to participate in the ITL program for two main reasons: • We believe that it is in the best interest of our members to remain as dynamic and innovative as possible. Participation in the ITL program would have involved a fundamental change in the way the DSL Consortium operates which would have: • Required significant resources thus limiting development of new services • Increased costs • Reduced flexibility in the testing environment • Introduced scheduling problems and reduced throughput of normal testing services • Reduced the availability of certain equipment in the test bed • The UNH-IOL is not a voting member of the Broadband Forum However, we do provide limited Broadband Forum TR-067 and TR-100 testing as a quick “pre-certification” service to our members. Pre-certification testing allows member companies to identify potential problems before seeking ITL certification.
