Is the unemployment/economic situation the current #1 most prevalent topic of conversation?

I don’t believe we are doomed. I don’t have a crystal ball, but here is my opinion about the situation and future perspectives. The availability of cheap money driven by low interest rates and government stimulated credits creates many services and jobs which can’t exist in normal circumstances. They will be mostly eliminated but people will still need and buy ordinary goods and services. They will also buy luxuries and unneeded things but not in so high amount anymore. Unfortunately, due to general pessimistic mood, some of healthy companies will be forced to reduce their business and, consequently, jobs as well. The whole economy will sooner or later adopt to the new situation, cutting production to the levels which are demanded by the money people really have, not by the money which is borrowed as almost nobody is willing to lend money in such situation.
