Is the Town using Denton County funding for improvements in Tarrant County?
No. The project is being accounted for as a whole, and the Town is utilizing Denton County TRIP-08 funding for the 20 percent match required for this project. The Town does not believe that any Denton County funding should be used in Tarrant County, which is why well more than the $5.5 million in Denton County funding is being expended in Denton County. The Tarrant County segment of the project is a small portion compared to the whole. The Town’s invoices for the project are being forwarded to the County’s transportation consultant, who is making them available to the County to ensure that all TRIP-08 funding is spent in Denton County. This is above and beyond what the agreement requires.
