Is the Torah and the Old testiment the same?
as others have pointed out the Torah is the first five books of the Tanakh, the Jewish bible. There is no “Old Testament” or “New Testament” in the Jewish bible. There is no Old Testament because Jesus was not the Jewish messiah so there is no “New Testament” and no new covenant for the Jews. The original still holds. There are 23 prophecies about the Jewish Messiah (not 300-600). Jesus fulfilled NONE of them and everything about Jesus proves he was for the gentile pagans, not the Jews: divine, divine birth, performing miracles, taking on the sins of everyone, being sacrificed, rising from the dead – all EXACTLY what the Jewish messiah will NOT be. He will be human, won’t perform miracles, won’t be divine and he will NOT be worshiped. and the Jews didn’t kill Jesus, he didn’t make a blip on the radar of the time to even be noticed by them. He was one of many young men that claimed to be the messiah over time. * The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26) * Once he is King, leade
