Is the Texas Workforce Commission working FOR or AGAINST the Texas employer?
By Walt Roberts and Amy Lister ASSIST One of the biggest struggles with the Texas Workforce Commission is how time consuming the response process is for the employer. It is not uncommon for a TWC representative to tell you that everyone has the right to file an unemployment claim. While this is true, it should not dominate the true meaning of what their purpose is; that is to investigate the case and be a bi-partisan. In the recent years, it is the feeling of the employers that TWC is not on both sides, and may be looking for rationale to keep their position. Concerning the security profession, some cases of termination will occur if an employee does not pass a background check with the state or the FBI, and are returned as denied for a security license in the state of Texas. If this is the case, the employee has not only lied on a state-mandated form, but also lied to the employer.
