Is the term “Eclectic Christian” an oxymoron or …?
It’s an oxymoron. There are many who PROFESS Christianity, but mix other religions with what they do. There is a big difference between profession and the real thing. Christianity is fundamentally, inherently exclusive. Jesus said, “I am THE way, THE truth, and THE life. Nobody comes to the Father except by me.
There are many definitions of the term “Christian.” The most basic one is “follower of Christ” or “little Christ.” With both of these definitions syncretism and non traditional beliefs can be a part of a Christian’s life. The only real requirement for being Christian is believing in His teachings and following His example.
