Swiss to place Polanski under house arrest Friday GENEVA — Switzerland’s Justice Ministry says it will place Roman Polanski under house arrest at his Alpine chalet Friday. Ministry spokesman Folco Galli says Polanski will be released from prison and transferred to his house in Gstaad after 1 p.m. (1200 GMT, 7 a.m. EST) Friday. Galli said Wednesday he would not comment further until the 76-year-old director was in Gstaad. Polanski must stay in the chalet and wear an electronic bracelet as Swiss authorities decide whether to extradite him to the U.S. for having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl. He has been in Swiss custody since being arrested Sept. 26 as he arrived in Zurich to receive an award at a film festival. « Previous Topic Next Topic » Filed under Crime | Tags: Arrests, Celebrity, Europe, Geneva, North America, Switzerland, United States, Western Europe | Comment Below Crime News * Russian tourist accuses Goa politician of rape attempt * Set up anti-trafficking cell in every
