The rise of the fastest growing sport in the world MMA (mixed martial arts). This is one of the main reasons for boxing popularity to fall, the entertainment value of MMA is similar to boxing however the sport holds more events and is more entertaining to watch because of the amount of styles for viewer’s pleasure. Boxing has been around for many many years and never really evolved much for entertainment value, MMA offers ground fighting and kicks also, boxing simply cannot compete with this otherwise it wouldn’t be boxing. Boxing doesn’t hold enough television rights, the sport holds great pay for views on sky however not many people are going to pay extra to view something that is less exciting that programmes that are on regularly such as cage rage.
