MARTIN: It’s about my high-school sweetheart actually. It’s about looking back at a time; looking through my eyes, when I got back from my first tour, then telling the story of the whole thing. My first girlfriend in high-school, we were together for about a year and a half. When you’re in high-school, you feel like the world’s never – like that’s never going to end. Every moment feels like the end of the world and you feel like no matter what, you’re going to marry your high-school sweetheart. And no matter what, that’s how it is. I set off for my first tour, me and Keefe (John) our drummer, were both in separate bands at the time – and set off when I was sixteen on a Summer tour; sleeping in the van, sleeping in parking-lots, taking showers in sinks at rest-stops.
