A. 1900, 2820, VPN, 700, PIX, NAM devices do not need SNMP read-write community strings for Software Management upgrades. However, devices such as 2900XL, 3500XL, 2950, 3550, 2500,1600, 800, need SNMP read-write strings, for config update even though the Software Management upgrade is through Telnet. For all other devices, read-write community strings are mandatory for Software Management upgrade.
