Is the Shoreline Classic walker-friendly?

0

The Shoreline Classic is open to all participants who wish to register; however, the 15K course closes after 1 hour, 52 minutes (approx. 12 min/mile) and the 5k open for 1 hour, 05 minutes (approx 20 min/mile) . Participants wishing to complete the 9.3-mile event within that timeframe will need to maintain a 12-minute/mile pace and the 5K in 20 min/mile. After the time limits have been reached, the streets will be re-opened to vehicular traffic, participants still out on the race course will be asked to move to the sidewalks, and on-course support (Aid Stations) will close. The Shoreline Classic will do everything feasible to accommodate our participants but we are also working closely with the city of Decatur and residents living on the course.
