It is not my intention to declare the Rod as being fallacious in this analysis, however, we have been instructed to “prove all things” rather than taking them gullibly, and to “hold fast” only to “that which is good,” and that is simply my object here. Then when faced with the stubbornness of the people, he took the glory of God unto himself, thus smiting the rock twice. Now think of Samuel who did not lead his household after God’s commands, yet the Lord used him mightily.
