Is the second-level cache enabled by default?

0

No entities or collections will be cached in the second-level cache unless you supply elements in the mapping files or and/or elements in hibernate.cfg.xml, even when EHCache or some other cache provider is configured. Likewise, queries are not cached in the query cache, unless you explicitly call Query.setCacheable(true), even when the query cache is enabled.
