Is the scientific method and scientific inquiry the same thing?
It’s somewhat nebulous, but you could say that the Scientific Method is used to engage in Scientific Inquiry. In order to know anything with a degree of certainty in science the Scientific Method is used. It consists of making a guess or hypothesis Testing the hypothesis by gathering facts and arguing with your detractors. Elevating the hypothesis to the level of Theory if it withstands the testing. The Theory is then used to make predictions in its area of application.
