Is the SAR rating of the phone meaningful?
Industry would answer yes to this question. SAR ratings are provided with mobile phones. SAR means Specific Absorption Rate. SAR tests allow the industry to set theoretically acceptable human body energy absorption levels. So this means a lower SAR translates to a safer phone. However SAR standards are being debated worldwide. This is logical given that the SAR Test only measures temperature (thermal) increases, rather than the microwave radiation emissions a user is exposed to. More and more proof is accumulating proving that EMR’s are potentially dangerous far below levels of heating (Non Thermal Effects) that are measured in SAR testing!
