Is the rumor that everyone in the US will be required to have flood insurance correct?
It is already required in most states to have flood insurance if you reside in a flood zone and are seeking financing. Especially Federal financing programs like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And the flood zones were being widened. This was as a result of flood insurance being voluntary and many people choosing not to have coverage and losing all and the banks losing their equity.
