Is the rock cycle always occuring?
Absolutely! Simply put, the wind is always blowing, the water is always flowing, therefore sedimentary processes are always occuring (wow that was a cool rhyme I just made up). Likewise, the magma within the Earth is always hot, which is always melting material, creating igneous rocks. From a metamorphic standpoint, there will always be areas with high heat and temperature, therefore there will always be metamorphic rocks. If any of these processes stopped, we’d have real problems.
