Is the required BME internship a paid internship?
During the summer between the junior and senior year, BME students are required to complete an educational summer internship. While there is no guarantee that this internship is a paid experience, students are allowed to apply for paid internships as long as it meets the minimum standard of the program’s educational requirements. During the junior year, students will work with the BME Program director to assist them in selecting an appropriate summer experience. This experience can range from a university BME research, medical, industrial, or service oriented (e.g. Mercy Ships) experiences.
