Is The Repair Mans Name Godot?
One of the most boring experiences in life is waiting for a repair man (or person to be politically correct, although I’ve never had a woman sent to repair or install anything). First, they tell you that they’ll be there between 8 and 10 but you know very well it will be closer to 10, if not after. Then, they call just to tell you the repair man is on the way but I know it’s just to make sure I’m sitting here waiting. As an extra added bonus, many places have started using a short notice cancelation penalty. If I cancel less than 48 hours from the date of the appointment, they get to charge me anyway (hotels are doing this little number too). I’d say that I should have been a plumber instead of a teacher but I know that’s not true. I’m waiting for the repair person because I’m incompetent with tools.
