Is the Remotescape software available for BlackBerry, Palm OS, Pocket PC, Symbian, or other handheld platforms?
No. The iPhone and iPod touch are the first and only handheld devices with all the high-end features required to provide a rich remote control experience meeting the expectations of Kaleidescape customers. Touch, using your fingers to control the software, is key to Remotescape’s ease of use. Combined with Apple’s rich user interface, WiFi networking, and the cost-effective iPod touch, the iPhone/iPod platform is uniquely suited to remote control applications. For example, the BlackBerry Storm from RIM does not yet include WiFi, which is a necessary feature for remote control in your home. We will keep watching the market for new devices that might also be able to offer the Remotescape experience. If you’d like to see Remotescape on your mobile handset, please let us know.
