Is the Rebel Recycling Program making money?
The program is generating some revenue. The revenue is not enough to cover the operating budget of the program. The revenue from the white paper, computer paper, cardboard and aluminum is used to improve and expand the program. Most recycling programs do not generate money; they SAVE money. It is the main goal of the Rebel Recycling Program to divert enough materials from the waste stream that we save the university money. The economics of recycling are a topic we could discuss and debate at great length.
