Is the Queen Anne neighborhood in Seattle a good place to live?

Queen Anne is nice, albeit overpriced in my opinion. Other neighborhoods that you may want to consider that are still close to downtown are: Fremont (artsy, hippies) Ballard (Scandinavian, quiet, smaller houses) Ravenna (hip, urban, quiet) Capitol Hill (gay neighborhood, but nice and lots of bigger houses) Green Lake (yuppie) Wallingford (slightly less yuppie) Eastlake (on east side of Lake Union; Queen Anne is the west side. Quiet, restaurants, bike-friendly, party central on July 4th) West Seattle or Alki (beach community, almost like Southern California) Stay away from: Beacon Hill South Park Burien White Center If you really want more for your money, move a little out of the city. I recommend Renton or Newcastle to the south, and Shoreline or Edmonds to the north. Traffic from the north into the city is WAAAAAYYY worse than it is from the south. If you live within 10 miles of the city it is fairly easy to take a bus into town…we have very good bus service and light rail also star
