Is the quality of work different between the Western World and Thailand?
Of course there are some talented Thai staff but there are far more who are not. Poor education, lack of interest and little loyalty all make for a tough time getting things done. Add to that an accepted level of performance well below western standards and the average western business owner will be pulling his hair out pretty soon. Initiative, responsibility and attention to detail are particularly hard to find. Thais like overtime and having their expenses paid but be aware that they rarely respond to bonuses or other incentives as they like everything guaranteed and not dependent upon their performance.
