Is the PRT process less expensive then pipe replacement?
Usually less expensive, but not always. IF, your building has asbestos present in wall or ceiling material, or if you have expensive, hard-to-replace wall coverings, then pipe coating will always save you money. We restore the integrity of the piping system within the walls. We can normally complete the work in about half the time of a typical re-pipe. We do not need to remove and repair walls and ceilings in order to complete our work. We typically offer a 10 year warranty for the epoxy restoration process. The warranty for a typical re-pipe may be 1 or 2 years. In the ‘short run’ there are occasions when pipe replacement is less expensive then epoxy coating, but because the epoxy will last longer then pipe, in the ‘long run’, epoxy coating is always less expensive.
