Is the procedure accomplished under general or local anesthetic?
Dr. Eid’s preference is spinal anesthesia as it dilates the penis prior to the procedure and provides for prolonged pain relief after the procedure is finished. It is also very safe and easely performed by the anesthesiologist. However, this procedure may also be performed with general or epidural anesthesia. Dr. Eid will generally let the anesthesiologist and patient decide.
