NO!!! The Presa Canario is not a fighting breed. It is a breed that can fight like most other dogs, but dog fighting was not the original purpose behind this breed. There is a brief point in their history, which has been glorified by some that the dog was involved in this activity, as most molosser dogs were. The Presa Canario was developed by Canarian farmers as a farm dog and guardian. They were occasionally used for fights between farmers for entertainment and at local fiestas, but the original breeding and selection of these dogs purely for fighting is untrue.
