Is the pit bull a good dog for a young female?
First, a dog is a dog no matter what name you call it by. Pit bulls have gotten a bad rapover the years because ofthe media. Did you ever see a reporter cover a story about the poodle that bit some random kid? No. And I’ve witnessed at least three poodle bites. Anyway, pits were bred to take down larger game during a hunt, so when they bite, they are so strong they do more damage than say a chihuahua. The same goes for other breeds like canary dogs and rottweillers. If trained properly, a pit bull can become your best friend. They are loyal, protective, and will do just about anything to please their owners. I own a red-nosed pit bull (which is supposed to be a more aggressive type of pit bull), but we have raised him as part of the family and never had a problem. He even plays hide and seek with my 3 kids. Pits are not good for first time dog owners. They are very smart and take to training well, but are extremely high energy and demand alot of exercise. They can be stubborn at times
