Is the OxiFirst system easy and convenient to use?
Minimal training is required to operate the OxiFirst Fetal Oxygen Saturation Monitoring system. Physicians and other licensed practitioners who use the OxiFirst system should have demonstrated expertise in determining fetal presentation and head position. Insertion of the sensor is similar to that of an intrauterine pressure catheter. Most clinicians feel confident with the procedure after the placement of 2 to 4 sensors. As labor progresses, it may be necessary to make minor adjustments to the sensor from time to time.
