Is The OVW TV Title becoming more important than the OVW Heavyweight Title?
I’ve mentioned this before. I think it has. It’s not because the Heavyweight Title is bland. Johnny Jeter and Matt Cappotelli carried the Heavyweight Title picture for the entire second half of 2005 and it was a great story and had some great matches. But the thing is, right now, it is JUST Matt Cappotelli and Johnny Jeter and it has been for awhile. I compare this to TNA. The NWA-TNA Heavyweight Title isn’t hyped up as much as it’s X Division title. You usually have Jeff Jarrett, and now it will probably be Sting every match. But in the X-Division, you have a plethora of great, talented wrestlers fighting great matches, whether its on TV or PPV. That’s exactly what the OVW TV Title has become. Every single week, the TV Title is put on OVW TV and every single week, the fans are treated to a great match. Ken Doane, Brent Albright, and C.M. Punk have really put a lot of prestige on the OVW TV Title and have put on the type of matches that we can only DREAM of seeing on WWE TV. I think al
