Yes. OracleAS Portal requires the Oracle9i database (or later). Either Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition of the database can be used. Please note that Oracle9i database is required for the Portal Repository only. Other applications can continue to use earlier versions of the Oracle Database (and other databases) and still be accessed through Portal. Top of Page 2.
