Is the Online Course Facilitator Training Required?
Yes it is required to insure the facilitator understands the organization of the online SIOP course, but also the technical features of the platform. It’s important the facilitator learn or review how best to support the teachers taking the course, regardless of the implementation model. The Online Facilitator Training consists of two 3 – to 4 – hour trainings through WebEx or Elluminate. Participants in the training will be required to complete some online assignments; therefore, the ideal training takes place over a few days. On Day 1, participants review and discuss, among other things, principles of online facilitation. Participants have time to complete their online assignments on Day 2, and then facilitators gather again on Day 3 for discussion, review, and a tour of the course.
