Quadro’s are generally used for business applications (such as CAD design) because they are designed to deal more with complex math computations straight on the GPU rather than full featured gaming. I don’t think you would get bad performance out of it, but for the price, I would suggest looking into the GeForce 300 or 400 series. They tend to be cheaper than Quadro’s and are geared more for multimedia and gaming. Could not find a pricing on the 1400 but the Quadro FX 1700’s near $500 price tag certainly is not appealing unless you actually need it for business applications http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… GTX 460 here is about half that price.
