Is the number of female pilots accurately represented in the series?
A. In 1992 The Defense Authorization Act repealed the combat exclusion law for women pilots in the Navy and Air Force. Since then, more and more female pilots are represented at a range of ranks, including the Flag level. As the Chief of Naval Operations has said, we are an organization that is diverse at all levels, and because we are infused with many perspectives, we become stronger, more talented, more capable, and more effective. As leaders we mentor current Sailors and potential recruits to join and stay Navy and are moving toward a service that represents the demographics of the nation.
