IS THE “NO MAKE-UP EXAMS” POLICY A DEPARTMENTAL OR INDIVIDUAL POLICY?
It is the instructor’s call, but it is recommended that the instructor keep the policy intact to encourage students to attend exams regularly or the instructor may find themselves doing 3-4 make-ups per exam given. The department chair generally follows the policy of no make-ups and then replaces any missed tests with the percentage earned on the final exam.
