Hi, I have a 1985 Nissan 300ZX non-turbo. I have been having fun and get great joy out of driving it. Mine only has 160hp, but it sure feels like more. I’ve learned that when I have the T-Tops off, it’s not much fun to go faster than 50mph(85kph). In all the research I’ve done, I am making sure to save money if the fuel pump ever breaks. The fuel pump seems to be a weak link in the 80’s ZX. I have never had a breakdown. The engine has plenty of torque. When I am cruising, I have no problem getting in to 5th gear by 35mph(55kph) and the engine just pulls. While getting on a high speed highway, I can just leave it in 3rd gear and it will accelerate quickly from 30mph(50kph) to any reasonable speed. 3rd gear will take you to about 100mph(160kph). Even 2nd gear can get you to 60mph(100kph). To finish. The 300ZX is a great personal car.
