Is the new pay scheme much more expensive?
Many NHS Professionals temporary staff will have increases in their basic rate due to the introduction of the national minimum rates and the guarantee of the appropriate High Cost Area and shift allowances. There is also, of course, the improvements in holiday pay for all staff. However, client organisations will have the opportunity to adjust RRP payments more easily in light of market circumstances. Any increases in pay rates will not be introduced until April 2006. The move to the third lowest pay point will not be until April 2007.
