Is the NCIH a public or private network?
The NCIH is part of the public-switched network in North Carolina. It is owned and operated by the state’s telephone service providers, just as the current voice network. State government is the first customer to use the NCIH and is a key partner in planning and implementation. Many other technologies, such as cable, satellite, and wireless are inter-operable with this network.
