Is the nature of the MA degree aimed towards a balanced introduction to the four fields of anthropology, or aimed towards one specific area of the students choice?
Like PhD students, MA students are expected to focus on one of the anthropological subfields, Social Cultural, Bioanthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, or Archaeology. However, MA degree students must take at least one course in three of the four subfields. They are not required to declare an inside major nor an outside minor, as PhD students are.
