The simple answer to this question is no. In earlier versions of Exchange, such as Exchange 2003, the Microsoft Data Transaction Coordinator (DTC) resource was required in a clustered environment for operations such as installing Exchange service packs. This is not the case in Exchange 2007 and therefore a DTC cluster resource is not required.
