Is the Mormon Faith violent?

The Jewish Anti-Defamation League condemned September Dawn because it is bigoted against Mormons. The Mountain Meadows Massacre was a tragic event, and the Mormon Church has expressed regret for the involvement of some Mormons in the massacre. Some argue that Brigham Young, the leader of the Church, ordered the execution. These claim that because Brigham Young was the leader of the Church, the Church as an institution is therefore to blame for the massacre, and so modern Mormons are likewise culpable. There is no convincing evidence that Brigham Young played a role in the planning or execution of the massacre. An eyewitness reported that Brigham Young wept when he learned of the massacre.
